Dear students and all stakeholders, you must be aware that Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is a Central University by an Act of Parliament of India. It provides education from nursery level to Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral Research. In addition to offering various programmes of learning in regular mode, JMI offers a variety of programme in Open Distance Learning mode as well as in Online mode. Currently, total number of 21,400 students are enrolled in ODL and Online mode in 40 different UG, PG, PG Diploma and Certificate programmes. We are offering admissions to all these programmes in 2025-26 also. The admission process for ODL and OL mode opens twice in an academic year i.e. in July and January each year. The CDOE, JMI always works hard to meet the quality standards in all the academic activities like preparation of Self Learning Material (SLM), conducting counselling sessions, workshops and dissertations, and puts its sincere efforts to provide quality education and experiences to all our learners.
In order to improve quality teaching-learning, the University is taking new initiatives such as providing audio and video lectures through the CDOE JMI Official YouTube Channel and streaming of counselling sessions through this channel so that a large number of students are benefited from such sessions. Various extension and special lectures on important themes will also be conducted which will be available to all our students through this channel.
We are also planning to celebrate different events and important days like Yoga Day, World Environment Day, AIDS Day, Population Day, Education Day etc. in online mode and disseminate the video of these events with the help of our YouTube Channel so that we reach out to our large number of learners enabling them to participate in all such activities and enrich their experiences.
I sincerely appreciate the hard work and dedication of all our officials working at the Centre for Distance and Online Education towards providing quality learning to our ODL and OL learners. I welcome all learners to the Centre in different programmes and wish for their best experiences and a bright future endeavour.
