Registrar’s Message

Jamia Millia Islamia is a dual mode university, offering various programmes of learning in regular as well as in Open and Distance Learning and Online Mode. Distance and Online education are becoming the need of the hour in the present times, because this enables us to meet the increasing expectations of those candidates who have insufficient resources to pursue higher education through regular methods. At present, we have a total enrolment of around 21,400 students in ODL and Online mode through 40 different PG, UG, PG Diploma and Certificate programmes. In the coming session, we are offering admission in all the ongoing programmes and also making efforts to find and introduce new programmes in the years to come which will be more skill based and have high employability value. The admission process is conducted twice a year as per UGC-DEB guidelines. Every year, one batch starts in July and the other batch starts in January.

The admission process for these batches opens in July and December respectively. Hence, we admit students in our different programmes twice in an academic year. In all the academic activities like preparation of Self Learning Material (SLM) for students, conducting counselling sessions, workshops, and dissertations, we always try to meet the quality standard and put our sincere efforts to provide quality education and experiences to all our learners. sincerely appreciate all our officials working at the Centre for Distance and Online Education for their hard work and dedication towards providing quality learning experiences to our ODL and OL learners. I welcome all learners to the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, in different programmes of learning in which they take their admission and wish for their best experiences and bright future and career ahead.
